SUNG BY TWO YOUNG DYNAMIC SINGERS,SALVATORE LICITRA AND MARCELLO ALVAREZ WITH SO MUCH FEELING IN THE BEAUTIFUL SETTING OF THE ROMAN COLISEUM.
THE SOUND QUALITY AND ORCHESTRA ARE SUPERB. ALL THE SONGS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING AND WILL MAKE YOUR HEART MELT. I RECOMMEND THIS DVD HIGHLY AND
IF I COULD GIVE THIS DVD 10 STARS, I WOULD. IT IS A TRUE PITY THAT SALVATORE LICITRA WAS KILLED IN A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT IN ITALY LAST YEAR.
THE WORLD HAS LOST A WONDERFUL SINGER WITH MUCH POTENTAL.

Heard this on the TV with my partner, luckily my partner remembered the artist’s names and I was then able to search and purchase the CD and DVD on the Internet. Very easy listening and as other reviewers have said the voices simply complement each other…..oh how I wish we could have been there on that beautiful evening, the DVD is second best and in fact prompted a wonderful holiday in Italy (Almafi) the following year.

Powerful and moving duet with a woonderful blend, and sometimes matched vibratos, which send chills down my back. Romantic and passionate. Classical music has been shaped to fit with more popular styles in the rest of the album. I generally prefer classical music, but this is one of my favorite recordings. Many classical artists seem either condescending or overwhelming in popular style music, but that is not true of these two excellent tenors.

It’s sad that Mr. Licitra passed away at such an early age, I am sure that he would have contributed much, much more to the world had he lived. That is why having this album is so special. The voices, the accompaniment, are just transporting. I recommend it to all lovers of male vocals, operatic or not.

リチートラが思いがけない事故でお亡くなりに成り，まだまだもっと色々な企画が出来ただろうとアマゾンを探したらアルヴァレスとデュエットとは何と珍しい企画。直ぐ買い求めました。お二人の声は似たタイプのテノールリリコだからデュエットしてぴったりこない訳が無い。両者とも音が高く成ればなるほど伸びやかで美しく響く，素晴らしいCDでした。８年後に片方が居なく成るなんて想像出来たでしょうか・・神様の側で歌っている事を信じつつ。

Duetto is a a group of breathtakingly beautiful duets. Sad to say, one of the tenors was killed in a motorcycle accident. Cuts 6 and 8 are my absolute favorites but all of them are beautifully sung. I wore one disk out and was so glad to find them on Amazon that I bought 2 so I’d have a spare to see me into my old age. Thank you

If you love Opera then these cross over singers are simply wonderful. These two singers harmonise like few duets can, a collection of superb tracks. Most albums of any genre have perhaps 2 or 3 tracks that really appeal and the others you rarely listen too. Not so with this CD, highly recommended.

The music is beautiful and it comes with lyrics so you can sing along in both Italian and English. This is my 2nd purchase – the 1st was for myself, several years ago, and I liked it so much that I bought another for my musical aunt who is traveling to Italy soon.

I recently discovered classical crossover music and fell in love with it! Learning of the tragic loss of Salvatore Licitra led me to the purchased of the album. It is such a treasure to listen to the blend of these two magnificent voices, one that sadly will never be recorded again. The duetto “Maria’ in tribute to Maria Callas is absolutely lovely. It has recently been recorded by Mario Frangoulis and Vittorio Grigolo on Mario Frangoulis’ album, Beautiful Things. But the blending of voices of Marcelo and Salvatore are much more remarkable.
I regret not having discovered the classical crossover genre of music much sooner. It is a true delight to the heart and soul.
